The first Annual Chamber of Commerce Community Banquet since 2019 will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Lake Ouachita Baptist Church. The program has interest for almost everyone.
From 5:30 – 6 pm attendees are invited to meet and greet candidates for upcoming country primary elections. The banquet itself begins at 6pm including a pasta buffet, speakers, and Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Voting for Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Non-profit of the Year, and Business of the Year closed on April 10. Winner awards will be announted at the banquet.
Speakers will be of particular interest.
Gary McWilliams, owner of Gap Mercantile in Caddo Gap, will share “Lessons I Learned From the Farm.” Gary’s fame extends well beyond Montgomery County. His Youtube channel, The Farm Hand’s Companion, has had over 6.5 million views.
Following Gary will be Kim Williams of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism. As some already know, Mount Ida will be directly in the path of totality for the 2024 Eclipse.. Many thousand visitors can be expected to be here at the same time. Kim will share the highlights of what we may expect and how to prepare.
Tickets to the banquet event are $10 purchased in advance, $15 at the door. Advance ticket purchases can be made with credit card on the chamber website,
