Mesa Miller has been chosen as the 2020 Mount Ida Lion Homecoming Queen. She will seat her court next Friday as Mount Ida hosts the Mineral Springs Hornets.

Senior Mesa Miller is a manager for the Mount Ida Lion Football Team, a member of the Mount Ida Lady Lions basketball team and the Mount Ida Lady Lions softball team.

Joining her in the Homecoming Royalty Court will be Senior Maid Katelyn Gilbert, Junior Maid Bethany Black, Sophomore Maid Emma Roland and Freshman Maid Tracy Efird.

Homecoming will be held prior to Mount Ida’s game against Mineral Springs next Friday. The Lions are still seeking their first win of the 2020 season after back to back last minute losses to 3A opponents Perryville and Jessieville.

Mount Ida will host the Bearden Bears this Friday. Seniors will be recognized at 5:30 p.m. with the game set to begin at 7 p.m.

Mount Ida and Mineral Springs have been conference opponents in the past as part of the 7-2A Conference. However, the Lions were shifted to the 5-2A Conference this season along with the Gurdon Go-Devils. The Hornets are the only 7-2A Conference opponent to remain on the Lion schedule this season.

Mineral Springs currently is 1-2 with a 57-20 victory over England in Week 1. They were defeated by Bearden in Week One 24-20 and forfeited last week’s game against 3A Fouke. Mineral Springs will host Gurdon this Friday.

Homecoming will begin at 5:30 p.m. with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m.
