Montgomery County woman receives 25 year sentence for rape

MOUNT IDA – A Montgomery County woman was sentenced to 25 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections after pleading no contest to one count of Rape of a minor younger than the age of 14 years old.
Jamie Kuykendall, age 32 of Montgomery County, was charged with one county of rape against a minor under the age of 14, a class Y felony in March. No further details are available due to the court sealing the records due to the age of the victim.
She pled no contest as part of a plea agreement entered into with the prosecuting attorney’s office. She was sentenced to 300 months, or 25 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. This is the minimum sentence for a Class Y felony. Her time will run concurrent with the six years she was sentenced to for the drug charges.
Kuykendall also pled no contest to one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, both are class D felonies.
According to court records obtained from AOC Court Connect, District 18 West Drug Task Force Officer Jeremy Lea reported that while serving the arrest warrant to Jamie Kuykendall a PPO search was performed on the premises. Lea alleges that he located a brown purse containing a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, and a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
Jamie’s husband, Timothy Kuykendall was arrested and charged with one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule II controlled substance, both are class D felonies.
He was sentenced to 60 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections as part of a plea agreement entered into with the prosecuting attorney’s office in May of this year.
In other Circuit Court news:
Donavan Coates pled guilty to Theft of property, a class D felony, and was sentenced to 54 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He changed his plea as part of a plea agreement with the prosecuting attorney’s office. The charges stemmed from a car he stole from Chris Elder Auto Sales.
Joshua Summitt pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony; and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. His plea was entered as part of an agreement with the prosecuting attorney’s office. He was sentenced to 48 months supervised probation and was accepted into drug court.
