The filing period for the May 24 preferential primary and school board elections ended Tuesday, March 1, at 12 p.m. This year’s election ballot will be a busy one with most county positions facing contested races.
As of press time there were no Democratic candidates registered for any of the local elections with most candidates running as a Republican.
Early voting for the preferential primary will begin May 9 with the election to be held May 24.
