DEWAYNE HOLLOWAY/dewayne@mcnews.online
Boots, Jeans and Showrings is the theme for the 94th Montgomery County Fair and Livestock Show to be held August 8-14 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.
Set up in the exhibit buildings will begin Saturday, August 7 at 10 a.m., but the fair officially kicks off Sunday, August 8, at 3 p.m. with the parade. One change with the parade this year is that all pageant and rodeo royalty contestants must participate in the parade.
The rodeo competition will take place Sunday as well at 5 p.m.
The pageant will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. with the talent show following the crowning of the new Miss Montgomery County. There have been some changes in the age groups this year.
Age groups are as follows:
Baby Little Miss – 0-12 months
Tiny Little Miss – 13-23 months
Darling Little Miss – 2-3 years
Little Miss – 4-5 years
Petite Miss – 6-7 years
Princess – 8-10 years
Young Miss – 11-13 years
Miss Teen – 14-17 years
Queen – 18-23 years.
All rules and regulations for the fair pageant can be found in the fair catalogue included in this week’s issue of the Montgomery County News.
Judging for all items in the exhibit building and the livestock show will be held Wednesday, August 11.
The rodeo will be held Friday, August 13, and Saturday, August 14, and will once again be put on by Snow Rodeo Company.
There will not be a gate fee to get in the fairgrounds this year, but there will still be a fee to attend the rodeo.
The Montgomery County Fair 2021 Catalogue is available as of this week and can be found in this week’s issue of the Montgomery County News.
