Charles Blackburn

Charles Blackburn, 88, of Mount Ida, Arkansas passed away Monday October 12, 2019. He was born on August 4, 1931 in Mount Ida, AR to the late Charles David Blackburn and Edna McBride. Charles is preceded in death by both his parents, brother; David Leon Blackburn, and sister; Aline Jones.

Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eula Faye (Whisenhunt) Blackburn, daughters; Sherry Robbins (Steve) and Kim Gornichec (Russell), son; Scott Blackburn (Abby), grandchildren; Halie Brakefield (Will), Russell Tackett, Chase Whittington, Malorie Tackett, Gabrielle Blackburn, great-grandchildren; Natalee Brakefield, Emilee Brakefield, and Makenzee Brakefield, brother, James “Gip” Blackburn (Barbara), brother-in-law, Arthur Jones, and a host of other friends and family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Jesus Name Peace Tabernacle in Mount Ida, AR. Service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Jesus Name Peace Tabernacle in Mount Ida, AR. Burial will be held following service at the church at Rocky Cemetery in Sims, AR. Pallbearers are Russell Tackett, Chase Whittington, Will Brakefield, Alton Cheek, Lanny Vines, and Doug Vines. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida, AR.
