Chamber Annual Community Banquet Scheduled for April 21

Pat Smith
“Annual” is supposed to represent something that happens every year. Nothing like a pandemic to mess things up. April 21,2022, is the big day restoring “annual” to its intended meaning for the Montgomery County Chamber banquet.
The first Annual Chamber of Commerce Community Banquet since 2019 will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Lake Ouachita Baptist Church.
2022 is an unusual year for another reason. Many county elected positions are open and the competition is heavy. The banquet schedule is modified slightly so that attendees will have an opportunity to meet and talk with candidates for county primary elections.
From 5:30 – 6pm, attendees are invited to meet and greet candidates. The usual banquet proceedings begin at 6pm, including dinner, a chamber update, Volunteers of the Year awards, and a speaker.
Award categories are Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Non-profit of the Year, and Business of the Year. Public nominations for these awards are open from March 16 through March 23. The top three in each category will be opened for public voting from March 30 through April 8.
Nominations and voting are via email to director@mtidachamber.com. Anyone without email can nominate and vote at the chamber office. Winners will be announced at the banquet.
Tickets to the banquet event are $10 purchased in advance, $15 at the door. Advance ticket purchases can be made with credit card on the chamber website,
https://www.mtidachamber.com/. Purchases can also be made by credit card or cash at the chamber office, 124 Hwy 270W (next door to the post office.) Purchases at the door must be in cash.
Don’t forget! Email nominations for Volunteers of the Year are open until Wednesday, March 23. The email address is director@mtidachamber.com
