Sawyer Beggs, a member of the Mount Ida FFA chapter in Mount Ida, Arkansas, will be on stage and in the spotlight October 26-30 during the 2021 National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis.
Beggs, a Freshman at Mount Ida High School and the son of Justus and Misty Beggs, has been selected to perform in the National FFA Talent Competition. He is among 20 selected from across the country. He was chosen based on an application process which included a recorded audition.
He, along with the other 20 chosen, will perform during general sessions, meal functions and receptions during the National Convention. He will join the other competitors in three rounds of performances. They will be judged on preparation, delivery, engagement, entertainment value and technical ability.
Beggs is no stranger to musical competitions. He has won the Montgomery County Fair talent competition multiple times and finished as runner-up at the Arkansas State Fair Talent Competition.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help offset Sawyer’s travel hotel costs. There is also an account set up at Southern Bancorp to help cover the cost of the trip.
