Active cases drop below 30 in Montgomery County

COVID-19 numbers have taken a drastic turn in the right direction in Montgomery County as we move past the one year mark since the virus made its way into the United States.

The most recent numbers posted Tuesday morning reveal that there are only 29 active cases in the county. This includes 18 active cases and 11 confirmed cases. This is the lowest total of active cases since mid-November of last year.

There were 28 new cases reported in the past week in Montgomery County. This is a slight decrease in new cases from the previous week. Montgomery County is reporting 639 cumulative cases (469 confirmed, 170 probable). This is the sixth lowest total cases in the state behind Calhoun County (318 cases), Lafayette County (432 cases), Woodruff County (524 cases), Searcy County (596 cases) and Newton County (633 cases). As of Tuesday morning, all five of these counties are reporting more active cases than reported in Montgomery County.

While there are 584 recoveries (434 confirmed, 150 probable) being reported, the number of virus related deaths has risen to 26 (17 confirmed, 9 probable). All four of the new deaths reported this week were the result of probable cases.

Arkansas is reporting 17,792 active cases with 12,921 confirmed cases and 4,871 probable cases. There have been 284,702 cumulative cases in Arkansas (228,410 confirmed, 56,292 probable), 262,229 recoveries and 4,650 deaths (3,778 confirmed, 872 probable).

Healthy.arkansas.gov has added a map of Arkansas which lists all locations in the state that currently offer a COVID-19 vaccine. Mount Ida Pharmacy is still the only location in Montgomery County listed. Buck’s Pharmacy and Woodard Drug are offering vaccines in Glenwood. They are currently offering vaccines for people in the Phase 1A and 1B categories.

Garland County has crossed the 8,000 mark with 8,002 cumulative cases (6,791 confirmed, 1,211 probable) being reported. They have reported 440 new cases in the past week. They are reporting a decrease in active cases with 637 active cases (530 confirmed, 107 probable). They have 7,167 recoveries (6,098 confirmed, 1,069 probable), and 196 deaths (161 confirmed, 35 probable).

Hot Spring County is reporting 214 active cases (188 confirmed, 26 probable), and 4,263 cumulative cases (3,925 confirmed, 338 probable). They have 3,987 recoveries (3,681 confirmed, 306 probable) and 62 deaths (56 confirmed, 6 probable).

Clark County is reporting 162 active cases (140 confirmed, 22 probable), and 1,754 cumulative cases (1,455 confirmed, 309 probable). They have had 1,560 recoveries (1,277 confirmed, 283 probable), and 32 deaths (28 confirmed, 4 probable).

Yell County is reporting 153 active cases (112 confirmed, 41 probable), and 2,969 cumulative cases (2,613 confirmed, 356 probable). There have been 2,756 recoveries (2,455 confirmed, 301 probable) and 60 deaths (46 confirmed, 14 probable).

Polk County is reporting 99 active cases (86 confirmed, 13 probable), and 1,614 cumulative cases (1,403 confirmed, 211 probable). There have been 1,460 recoveries (1,275 confirmed, 185 recoveries) and 54 deaths (41 confirmed, 13 probable).

Scott County is reporting 59 active cases (29 confirmed, 30 probable), and 830 cumulative cases (551 confirmed, 279 probable). There have been 757 recoveries (508 confirmed, 249 probable), and 14 confirmed deaths.

Howard County is reporting 52 active cases (29 confirmed, 23 probable), and 1,301 cumulative cases (900 confirmed, 401 probable). There have been 1,228 recoveries (853 confirmed, 375 probable), and 21 deaths (18 confirmed, 3 probable).

Pike County is reporting 33 active cases (23 confirmed, 10 probable), and 862 cumulative cases (669 confirmed, 193 probable). There have been 811 recoveries (633 confirmed, 178 probable), and 18 deaths (13 confirmed, 5 probable).
